今天，施強學子屠同學受邀參加紹興蕺山外國語學校的高二國際班結業典禮。

作為該校的優秀畢業生，屠同學向在座的老師和同學們進行經驗分享，關于自己是如何突破自我，成功獲得包括加州大學歐文分校（排名42）錄取、戴維斯分校（排名46）經濟學、密西根州立全美第一的供應鏈管理專業、德萊賽爾的物流專業等院校專業錄取。

My name is Tu Shixuan（may be you’ve known）and my English name is Joseph. I used to study in this school in grade1 and grade 2. A year ago, after I finished the exams, I got 89 in TOEFL. It was a relatively good score in my class, the third one. To be honest, I am not a very diligent person in learning English. 

On weekends, I spent a long time on playing League of Legends and I played Glory of the King on my cellphone. Even though many of my classmates went to Hangzhou to have more extra classes, I had never been nervous about their progresses since I thought it was not difficult to obtain a high score in TOEFL. But very soon I realized that I was wrong when I took the TOEFL exam. I got 86 only. It was the first time that I was getting worse. I encouraged myself that 'Don’t worry,I will reach 95 next time.' So I was still addicted to playing games and lying to myself. As you can imagine, I had no promotion in several months on account of lack of self discipline which is quite important. Teachers and my parents were very upset and anxious about my grades and applications to universities.

At that time, I became more and more anxious about my TOEFL score. I knew my foundation was poor because I spent much less time on memorizing vocabulary, writing passages and practicing speaking than others. What’s more, my classmates who had lower grades than me also approached 90.

I did not want to fall behind and I wanted to be responsible to my future. Thus I gave up playing phone games and any other enthusiasms and studied 7 more hours every day from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. During that  period, the only 10 minutes break was having my dinner. I wrote the same title over and over again, revised them with the opinions of my writing teacher. I spent 20 minutes on listening to TPOs before sleep, and got up at 7 a.m. to recite phrases and words. Finally,owing to my own hard work, I got 103 in TOEFL which is relatively good and received the offer from University of California, Irvine, a Top 50 university.

In conclusion, the most important contribution I think to get a high score is hard working and self-discipline.
